Getting Started with Mockery

Android safeguards mock location features inside Developer Options to prevent unauthorized background spoofing:

1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
2. Scroll down and tap About phone (or System > About phone).
3. Locate the Build number entry.
4. Tap Build number 7 times consecutively. You will see a brief prompt: "You are now a developer!".
5. Enter your device lock PIN or biometric if prompted.

Now tell Android to grant Mockery permission to act as the test location provider:

1. Return to the main Settings menu and open System > Developer options.
2. Scroll down to the Location section.
3. Tap Select mock location app.
4. From the dialog list, select Mockery.

For security, your primary website account password is never entered on your Android phone. Instead, create dedicated device credentials:

1. Log into your account at Mockery Controller.
2. Open the Devices / Credentials panel.
3. Click + Add New Spoofer Device.
4. Enter a friendly name (e.g. Pixel 8 Test) and generate a unique username and password.

Enter your device credentials into the Mockery Android app:

Passwords are encrypted using Android's hardware-backed Keystore and stored in EncryptedSharedPreferences.

You are ready to simulate movement:

1. In your desktop browser at Mockery Controller, click the map to place waypoints.
2. Adjust the speed slider (e.g. 50 km/h) and click Start Simulation.
3. On your Android phone, tap Connect. The foreground notification will appear: Mockery: Active (Moving).
4. Open Google Maps, a delivery app, or your custom Android app. Watch your location move smoothly along the straight-line path!
