WebSocket & WSS Connection Diagnostics
If your Android Spoofer reports Status: DISCONNECTED, or refuses to connect with a security warning, use this diagnostic guide to isolate transport and authentication failures.
Run "Test Connection" First
Inside the Mockery Android app (under Settings > Profile Manager), tap Test Connection. The diagnostic engine tests four discrete stages:
If any stage fails, the diagnostic report pinpoints the exact failure reason below.
1. "Authentication credentials require a secure WebSocket connection (WSS)"
Security Rule
The Cause: You entered a username and password in your provider profile, but selected an unencrypted ws:// connection.
- Change protocol from
ws://to wss://. - Set port to 443.
- Ensure the hostname is set to
www.tool3.com.
2. Corporate Firewall Blocking Outbound WebSockets
Certain enterprise office networks, university Wi-Fi systems, and hotel captive portals inspect HTTPS traffic and block persistent WebSocket upgrades (Upgrade: websocket).
- Temporarily disconnect your phone from office Wi-Fi and switch to mobile cellular data (5G/4G).
- Tap Test Connection again in Mockery Spoofer.
- If the connection succeeds on cellular, your local Wi-Fi router or firewall is dropping WebSocket packets.
3. Authentication Rejection (HTTP 401 / Invalid Credentials)
If the WebSocket connects but Stage 2 fails with "Invalid credentials", the device username or password does not match MySQL records:
- Log into your account at Mockery Controller.
- Open the Devices panel and locate your phone.
- Click Reset Password to generate a fresh password.
- Update the password in your Android Spoofer profile and tap Save.
